This is finally in the hands of my hairdresser and is a portrait of her daughter who has aged by a year in the time itís taken me to complete this.

I wonít state my true feelings here on what I feel about the quality of this as I know Iíll be nagged by certain members on here but suffice to say Iím glad itís now finished.

The fur jacket texture was a new one for me and I hope itís recognisable for what it is.

Iíd like to thank *CaroleHumphreys and =pbird12 both of whom were kind enough to critique this before I completed it and pointed many improvement I could make to it which I hope Iíve pulled off.

Approximate time: 70 hours due to many changes and adjustments.

Materials

A3 Winsor & Newton Bristol Board.
2H through to 6B Staedtler Mars Lumograph
Various mechanical pencils 0.3 & 0.5
Blu-Tack and Tombow Mono for erasing
Hand cut template for the oval shape.

I'm glad to see you've posted a new drawing. It's outstanding, especially her hair and the fur! I'm sure I would feel their textures if I touched the screen :giggle: And it's A3! Oh my, I don't wonder why it took so much time, but it paid off :aww:

Gary, this looks wonderful! :love:I absolutely love how you drew the hair and the coat!
You take way too long to finish it, you slow frog, but when you finally do; it's brilliant!

Thank you soooo much Christina, I'd love to be a prolific drawer like Paula but both health and lack of focus restrict me at the best of times but this one I did find particularly hard as I just didn't have the same emotional feeling that my previous 2 gave me.

So to keep you waiting, I shall try harder when I find my next subject.

Do my eyes deceive me??? An actual new work by The Frog himself?!?!? :iconsqueeemoteplz:

This is really lovely Gary and yes, do keep your thoughts to yourself, because we all know you are way too hard on yourself all the time! :shakefist:

The fur is instantly recognizable and the girl is as sweet as can be. Drawing young kids can be a difficult thing, but you pulled it off great (again)!
The hair is really, really gorgeous!
I also like the oval framing; a really nice touch, that!

It's so beautiful, you've done an amazing job. I know I never got around to the final crit, but there's nothing to fault about it. I'm sure her mum will be thrilled with the portrait.

No worries Carole, I think I was so sick of this one I'd have been unable to make any more changes to it. She seemed over the moon with it but I really had hoped to have done a better job on it.
I think now I need to find an image that really grabs me like the previous two.
Many thanks for you time and your comment.

Great work Gary. Lovely soft tones and you've captured her smile beautifully - something I think is hard with children.

Hairdresser? Lucky you! It's been many years since I've had the pleasure of one of those.

Yes, you keep your thoughts to yourself FF!!!

You know I love her already, the hair is just :faint: and she is such a little cutie and you kept her looking young, I think that's tricky to do in graphite.

I'm sure her mum loved it, I know I would
